Norwegian Journalist to Oxford: The Preben Munthe Fellowship

The Fritt Ord Foundation sponsors half a year of study and research in Oxford for a Norwegian journalist.

The fellow will spend six months at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University, commencing January 2018.

The Journalism Fellowship Programme is aimed at journalists with suitable experience from around the world, whose professional work would be enhanced by a period of reflection, research and intellectual exchange with other journalists in Oxford. All institute and university/college fees will be paid by the Fellowship, and the Fritt Ord Foundation will cover travel costs and provide a modest stipend intended for housing and living expenses. To be considered, applicants are asked to submit a proposal which gives details of the proposed research topic related to the media of a country. There is a minimum requirement of five years’ professional journalistic experience, but exceptional applicants who do not meet this requirement may be considered.

Closing date for applications is Monday, 18 September 2017, at noon.

For questions, please contact Hanne Vorland at [email protected].
